Fixies in San Francisco and cycling from Mongolia to Nepal
October 27, 2006
I found this promo for MASH by Mike Martin and Gabe Morford on YouTube and kicked myself for missing its preview at the Bicycle Film Festival in September.
I did see Lino Niglas’ Adventure High though and loved it. I’m now all inspired to do the Red Spokes Lhasa to Kathmandu tour next year. In 24 days you cover 1,000 kilometers across what must be some of the most spectacular and varied mountain scenery in the world. They say the trip is designed for the experienced cyclist and while the distances and gradient each day are not extreme, the altitude and terrain make this a tough trip. Five of the passes are over 5,000 meters.
All I need now is (cough) a little more fitness, experience and around £1,400.

That Lhasa to Kathmandu trip sounds excellent, but bloody expensive
I’ve been to Kathmandu before but not cycling and that sounds just fantastic!
Good reply to Erin btw (I won’t spam your blog with multiple comments
)
Cheers,
