Google offers staff free Raleigh bikes

March 23, 2007

I read with interest that Google is offering free bikes to all 2,000 of its permanent employees in Europe, Middle East and Africa. They will be able to choose from a range of Google branded Raleigh models, with a branded helmet included, naturally.

This comes after Ikea gave Raleigh folding bikes to all 9,000 of its UK employees last Christmas.

I imagine that we will see more companies following this lead and encouraging staff to cycle to and from work as they are pressured to improve all environmental aspects of their business.
